[RFX COLLECTION] Dynamic Ragdoll Animations
Dynamic Ragdoll Animations is a mod that aims to add active ragdoll-like animations to Arma 3, similar to games like Insurgency Sandstorm. There’s still quite a few limitations though, the fact that this mod even works is nothing short of a miracle and should be considered more of a tech demo than anything else.
Not compatible with any other ragdoll mod, if you want to use with Project Injury Reaction you need to delete PIR_rd.pbo or find a branch of the mod that has the ragdoll component disabled.
Should be fine to use with Death and Hit Reactions, I’ll have a compat mod designed to work with this uploaded soon.
-Brand new physics model designed to mimic the human muscular system, with realistic inertia and range of motion for all limbs
-New joints have been added, including proper shoulder, neck, and spine joints. No more cardboard soldiers!
-Experimental writhing animations are enabled, please see the attached videos for how this works
-Fixed numerous issues from vanilla, including ragdoll collision boxes and broken knee joints
-Ugly vanilla hit reactions have been disabled
-Ragdolls now have collision with PhysX objects enabled
-Ragdolls tend to vibrate on the ground, especially noticeable on Altis
-Performance may be an issue if many ragdolls are active at once
-Ragdolls may get launched into orbit from explosions occasionally
-30mm autocannon rounds have too much impact on the ragdolls (tough thing to balance, if I nerf this then ragdolls won’t have any reaction to any other type of explosion)
-Sometimes ragdolls may get stuck in the flailing animation
-Ragdolls may sometimes sink into the ground if killed during the transition to injured animation
-Headshots will still trigger the flailing animations, unfortunately there is no way to fix this
This mod is 100% open source. Feel free to unpack it and do whatever you want with it; No permission is necessary if you want to include it in a modpack or upload as a separate branch.
