Excalibur
This is a small standalone mod that adds a lore-inspired way to claim Excalibur in Crusader Kings III. It is lightweight and designed to work alongside other mods without conflicts.

Decision to Claim Excalibur – Available to rulers of West Germanic or Brythonic heritage who have reached the heights of prestige and virtue.
Unique Reward – Claiming Excalibur grants you the legendary sword itself, the nickname “The Legend Reborn”, and a massive surge of prestige and renown.
Lore-Friendly Flavor – The decision and artifact description draw directly on Arthurian legend, imagining the blade’s fate after Arthur’s death and its return to a new worthy wielder.
AI Support – If you don’t claim Excalibur yourself, the AI has a chance to do so — but only once. There can only be one true Excalibur.

Fixed artifact visuals: Excalibur now correctly displays the Excalibur icon in UI, while using a proper sword portrait model in duels (no more pedestal bug).
Cleaned up mod files to ensure compatibility and stability.
Added new Martial requirement: You must have 20 Martial or higher to be considered strong enough to wield Excalibur.
Added new Gallant trait requirement: Only those who embody the knightly ideal of Gallantry are worthy of claiming the blade.
Adjusted Excalibur’s health buff to +2.5 (down from 5) — keeping the blade powerful and legendary, but balanced to avoid being overpowered.
Added console command to directly spawn Excalibur: effect give_excalibur_weapon
I recommend using bypass_requirements instead when cheating it in — this ensures only one true Excalibur exists and prevents duplicates from being created.
