M1A1 — основной боевой танк США. Представляет из себя модификацию M1 Abrams с установленной 120-мм гладкоствольной пушкой M256. Танк серийно выпускался с 1985 по 1992 год. Из-за увеличения калибра орудия боекомплект был сокращен до 40 снарядов. Дополнительно было усилено бронирование лба корпуса, установлена новая коллективная система защиты от оружия массового поражения со встроенным кондиционером.
