[Alien]Martian Invasion
It seems that there are often people who hope to see the tripod units from "War of the Worlds" in the workshop, and I have noticed that there is currently no complete mod package with the theme of alien invasion. So I created this mod.
This is a vehicle pack themed around “Martian Invasion,” mainly inspired by: *War of the Worlds*, *Helldivers 2*, and the *Half-Life* series.
Current Units & Features
- Tripod
• Iconic three-legged walker — a moving fortress on the battlefield
• Main weapon: high-energy laser beam capable of destroying most targets
• Equipped with an energy shield: absorbs incoming damage, temporarily collapses when overloaded, and regenerates after a delay — but with reduced strength each time
• Weak point: the joints connecting the three legs - Roamer
• Variant A: Fires miniature black holes that pull in and kill nearby enemies; can also deploy a beacon to teleport allies to a designated location
• Variant B: Uses laser beams as its primary weapon for sustained fire suppression - UFO
• Variant A: Fires two types of projectiles — fast-moving blue rounds and homing red rounds
• Variant B: Mimics classic UFO abduction, levitating ground targets into the air while dealing continuous damage
• Equipped with an energy shield: same behavior as Tripod — regenerates after collapse but with decreasing durability - Mobula
• Forward weapons: energy orbs + laser beams
• Downward weapons: concentrated laser bombardment
• Weak point: jet vent located at the top of the unit
Development & Future Plans
All models are created by myself, with skeletal animation assets adapted from *Half-Life 2*.
This Mod is still in WIP status. Planned future updates may include:
- Further optimization and refinement of models
- Replacing the placeholder HUD interface
- Enhancing and improving sound effects
- Adding more units and gameplay features
- Continuous improvements based on player feedback
