Great Northern Berkshire
First “real” livery I’ve done in a while, here’s the Great Northern Berkshire!
Fun fact: the Great Northern never owned any Berkshires. The lettering and numbering instead match an S-2, a class of 4-8-4 Northern the railroad used from 1930 to 1958. One of these, No. 2481, held the dubious honor as one of the last steam locomotives to suffer a boiler explosion, in 1947. Another, No, 2484, is on display in Havre, Montana. When the new modding system drops, I might remake this one to take a crack at replicating those cool front-mounted air compressors.
Some of the photos were taken on Microcosmologist’s Strawgrass Cascades layout, at https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2136874213. The slightly gloomier ones were taken on my Evergreen Pacific & Eastern layout, a work in progress.
