Failed Hack Reinforces HackDefense
A failed hack reinforces Hack Defense on the target unit instead of magically making it aim or defend better.
The effect does not stack, flat +50 to Hack Defense.

The value is customizable, the default is 50. I don’t recommend going below 40. Putting a very high value is also good, it would make it so a unit can only be tried on once per mission, substantially increasing the stakes of taking a not so good hack chance attempt. It would also slightly increase the use of BlueScreen or EMPs for hacking.
