About

The new, reworked version. Now with NPC targeting and far more settings.
Great for random NPC battles, multiplayer etc.
You can find this turret in [Entities/dSentries]

Features

– Targets NPCs as well as players,
– Customizable, see settings down below,
– Duplicable, you can save the turret with all of the settings,
– Destructible, players and enemy NPCs can destroy the gun.

Settings

-{ Targeting }-
Sentry Class: used by other NPCs for targeting. For example if set to "REBEL", Combines will attack the sentry,
Ignore Owner: whether or not should be owner (spawner) of the sentry ignored,
PSO(Precise Shooting Only) – If this is on, the sentry will shoot only when
its muzzle is perfectly alligned with the target (usefull for sharphshooter sentries),
Sentry in Motion: – This option is very usefull when your sentry is moving(it’s welded to a plane/car). This setting will prevent targetting based on distance to target, this way you can avoid constant target changes.
Target NPCs: whether or not should be NPCs (NextBot included) targeted,
Range: Radius in which the sentry can detect and target the enemy,
Targeting Filters: using that field, You can omit (not target) some entities based on their Nick (for players) or class (for NPCs). Filters need to be separated with ";" (semicolon) like this:
kleiner; citizen; zombie. This way, everything with "kleiner", "citizen" or "zombie" in class or nick won’t be targeted.

You can also specify the exact class/nick by prefixing the "!":
!npc_zombie; !SomeNick; headcrab. This way you can avoid targeting enemies with similar classes or nicks, ex. Zombie (npc_zombie) and Fast Zombie (npc_fastzombie). Filters are not case sensitive
("NiCK" == "nick").

-{ Misc }-
Shoot Sound: Shows a list of sounds to choose from.
Muzzle Effect: Shows a list of muzzle flashes to choose from.
Tracer: Shows a list of tracers flashes to choose from.
Fire Speed: Modifies the firing rate. The bigger the speed, the less damage is inflicted, in other words: speed at the cost of damage and accuracy.
Laser Color: Sets color of the laser sight (Set it to black if you want to turn it off).
Decals: Sets the decal type of your sentry.

FAQ

Why can’t I change the damage/health?
– This sentry is more for roleplays than for pure sandbox, so you can’t just set the damage to infinity.

I changed the sentry class but it still won’t shoot at [insert npc name here]
– Everything is described in the "Settings" section.

I get Lua errors while using that addon.
– If the Console doesn’t say "lua/addons/autoturret/[init.lua, shared.lua or cl_init.lua]" then it’s not a problem with the Turret itself.
Can’t do anything about it, contact the author of the faulty addon.

Is it able to kill Strider, Gunship or a monster_bullchicken?
– Yes it is. It uses a special technique called DMG_BLAST for those dudes. It can even kill the monster_gargantua!

Important !

– If you want this turret to pierce through gunship/strider armor you need to set "FireSpeed" to as low as:

– (1.04) to penetrate strider armor
– (2.10) to penetrate gunship armor
(Remember ! – lower rate of fire = bigger damage per round and higher accuracy)
