So i’ve tried source modding. and i’ve tried reanimating HL2 weapons.

This is the Reanimation Pack that I once made and posted to GameBanana. It was my first time trying out source modding, and back then, I wasn’t quite experienced with how source modding works in general.
Since Half-Life 2 is getting a workshop update, I’ve decided to update these animations with the skills I currently have.

VIDEO IS NOW UPDATED!

So here’s a highlight from what to expect from this pack:

  • Reanimated Vanilla weapons
  • Two handed pistol (for a one-handed version, click here)
  • "Accurate" Spas Reload (for vanilla style reload, click here)
  • SMG extended mag
  • An actual stunstick reanimation (wow)
  • AR2 (occasional) Mag reloading (for no mag reloading click here)
  • Visible rocket being inserted to RPG
  • Subtle reload variation in most weapons

Thanks to Kreze for several sounds tweaks, not only now i can hear the crowbar goes clank clank, but also gun weapons sounds has more oomph to it

Regarding permission to modify this pack, you all have my permission under condition that:
– Not a full-on repost
– Credit me for the animations.

If you’re experiencing audio glitches like high-pitched screeching, low-quality sfx do as followed: (and i really have to emphasize this: THIS INCLUDES PISTOL SFX BUG FIX BTW

Go to your steamappsworkshopcontent2203368291003 folder and remove the workshop.vpk.sound.cache file.

Start up the game and open the developer console, type in the command snd_restart.
If it happens again, repeat.

HL2 just doesn’t overwrite update the sound cache file for workshop, and valve hasn’t done anything about it, so any types of audio replacement update would end up just glitchy, unless you remove the cache file.

SOURCE FILES IS UP!

To any modders, I’ll provide a QC model source files in which, you can edit and reconfigure things all you want if you ever thought about changing arms with different types of c_arms (it also includes blend files, as well as unused & unrelated stuff so that you can see how messy it is):
