Le ALn 663 sono l’evoluzione finale del gruppo 668, condividendo praticamente tutto con quest’ultimo. Le differenze sostanziali risiedono nella forma della cabina e nella presenza della prima classe che, causa diversi arredi interni, limita il numero di posti a sedere a 63.
Meccanicamente sono analoghe, con i motori iveco 8217.32 sovralimentati che trasmettono il moto alle ruote attraverso un cambio meccanico a 5 marce. Il rodiggio è (1 A) (A 1), i motori sono due da 170kw ciascuno, velocità massima è 130km/h.
Le ALn 663 delle ferrovie dello stato sono state recentemente distolte dal servizio ordinario.

The ALn 663s are the final evolution of the 668 class, sharing virtually everything with it. The main differences resides in the cabin shape and the presence of first class, which, due to different interior furnishings, limits the number of seats to 63.
Mechanically, they are similar, with supercharged Iveco 8217.32 engines transmitting power to the wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. The wheel arrangement is (1 A) (A 1), the engines are dual, 170 kW each, and the maximum speed is 130 km/h.
The FS’ ALn 663s were recently withdrawn from regular service.
