MIs – TINY CITY

All cities and ports for major cultures have been redesigned using a mix of history and common sense. Now when you take Athens, Jerusalem or Ecbatana, you’re not seizing copy-pasted concrete slabs, but places someone might actually want to die defending…

The old trees are gone. Every bush, pine, and swamp replaced with optimization in mind. Seasons now mean something: northern forests buried under snow, autumn bleeding in color, and spring smelling like it wants war.

The Alps and Pyrenees finally resemble what they always were — giant, freezing death traps.

Water is no longer just blue wallpaper. Every sea on the map now has its own coastline and character. You can see the Nile crawl into the Mediterranean and dirty power of the Tigris or the Danube.

Each culture sails its own beasts now. All unique: triremes, biremes, transport ships, liburnian ships, even swift ships for agents. In the name of Poseidon, merchant fleets have been completely remade too.

Vanilla made every resource look like the same pile of dirt. I fixed that. Now you’ll know exactly what your legions died for — vineyards of Greece, silver mines of Iberia, or the Pillars of Hercules shimmering in the African sun.

Tons of new models and fully rebuilt visual effects breathe new life into the campaign. Tiny things we’ve been longing for: new fog of war, lightning cracking open storms, sea waves clawing at the shores, snow blizzards, birds flock above cities, trophies where men fell, siege camps or even Corona Muralis as a reward for the brutal city assault.

• Works only with DEI and Grand Campaign.
• Only affects the campaign map, battle terrain stays as is.
• Rebalances the economy and AOR for new cities different from the base DEI.
• Not save-compatible. You’ll need to start fresh, nothing good ever comes easy.
Optimized as far as human sanity allows. Still, this is Rome II: an engine held together by duct tape and regret. Expect up to 10 FPS drop in late game, depending on how much the gods hate your GPU.

There’s a lot planned: giving some love to Arab cultures, adding more ports, and updating several cities. I’m currently working on an expansion and upgrade system that applies to the province rather than just the city (so siege encampments won’t be miles away).
