Description:

CV Class 1, Core 1, Unlock Level 10 – Reforged Eden 2 Only

Primary roles: Starter CV, Production, Storage, Utility, Upgradable

The Cosmos Explorer is a small inexpensive starter CV that comes with a lot of stock features and has several upgrade options.

Stock Features

The Cosmos comes stock with 2x320K cargo bays, 14K ammo box, 2 large and 2 small constructors, 3 cargo boxes, fridge, food processor, Wifi, Detector, 2 passenger seats, full med bay, armor locker, weapon locker, armor repair station, landing pad with ramp (ramps engaged by landing), drone hatch, 2 gatling turrets, and ATM.

Upgrade options

The Cosmos Explore has several upgrade options. This includes locations to add a warp drive, compact shield, pentaxid tank, additional constructor/deconstructor, additional 1×3 generator, and 10 1×2 thrusters locations. If you remove the forward thrusters you can also add 2 large thrusters to replace them. Keep in mind you can also upgrade the stock ion thrusters to plasma and antimater variants.

The Hull is built with steel with some cargo extensions. The interior is built with carbon substrate and some cargo extensions. Most of the hull is steel except much of the blocks that make the landing pad.

Notes: This was built the Anvil "desposable starter" challenge.

I wanted this build despite being small and cheap to feel good to a player having a decent production and storage + utility. The goal is to use this until you can afford a larger mid/late game ship to replace it.

It has no listed CPU upgrade slots as it has over 100K CPU available stock, enough to add most all the upgrade options. if you take it past 200K CPU, I would remove the 2 cargo boxes near the side entry doors and put in basic CPU blocks in there place.

One last thought, with a bit of block mods to the front, a 6 drill mining option could be added as well as replacing 1 320K storage with a harvest controller making it a CV miner.
