Time to get this over with

So a recent bother of mine (but nothing new when it comes to TW games) is that the towers deal a stupid amount of damage. This is especially painful when the AI is really stupid and they take odd paths during a siege defence or attack and the towers just shreds your or the AI’s troops. I’ve even had generals die pitifully during routing by towers that spam attacks them while their pathfinding is making them take bad routes through their fireing line while exhausted.

So I attempt to fix this by nerfing the towers by large margin.

What does this Mod do?
  • All towers during siege and deployable towers have their damage and rate of fire significantly reduced.
  • Update [2020-03-06]: Reduced also range for freestanding towers.
  • Update [2020-03-20]: Deployable towers arn’t as harshly nerfed.
  • Update [2020-03-20]: Increased accuracy to compensate for reduced everything.

Some Info

The walled tower damage is reduced to 1/4th of their vanilla damage and increases reload rate for lower leveled walled towers.

Unmodded damage values for walled towers are:
Lvl 1 towers: 400 Missile damage/ 100AP missile damage. Per shot.
Lvl 2 towers: 250 Missile damage/ 250AP missile damage. Per shot.
Lvl 3 Towers: 100 Missile damage/ 400AP missile damage. Per shot.

For all towers, reload time is 3 seconds.

This is stupidly high in my opinion.

Changed to this:
Lvl 1 walled towers: 100 Missile damage/ 25AP missile damage. Per shot.
Lvl 2 walled towers: 62 Missile damage/ 62AP missile damage. Per shot.
Lvl 3 walled towers: 25 Missile damage/ 100AP missile damage. Per shot.

reload times for lvl 1 walled towers are trippled (from 3sec to 9sec)
reload times for lvl 2 walled towers are doubled (from 3sec to 6sec)
reload times for lvl 3 walled are unchanged

Update [2020-03-01]
There was a Specific tower variant on village settlements.

This was their stats:
100 Missile damage/ 500AP missile damage per shot. Reload time 2 sec
Now modded to:
25 Missile damage/ 125AP missile damage per shot. Reload time 7 sec

Update [2020-03-06]
Reduced damage, range and firerate further for Freestanding towers. Walled towers are irrelevent in this update.

New range for Freestanding (aka, non walled) towers:
(Unmodded range: 100)
Lvl 1 freestanding towers: 60
Lvl 2 freestanding towers: 70
Lvl 3 freestanding towers: 80

New damage values on unwalled towers (reduced base missile and AP missile damages by -10):
Lvl 1 freestanding towers: 90 Missile damage/ 15AP missile damage per shot.
Lvl 2 freestanding towers: 52 Missile damage/ 52AP missile damage per shot.
Lvl 3 freestanding towers: 15 Missile damage/ 90AP missile damage per shot.
Specific tower (freestanding village towers): 15 Missile damage/ 115AP missile damage per shot.

New reload times for unwalled towers:
reload times for Lvl 1 freestanding towers are trippled (from 3 to 9)
reload times for Lvl 2 freestanding towers are increased (from 3 to 8)
reload times for Lvl 3 freestanding towers are increased (from 3 to 7)
reload times for "specific tower (freestanding village towers)" are increased (from 2 to 9)

Update [2020-03-20]
The deployable towers got quite butchered from this mod, as it uses a projectile that I edit. So to not make them useless anymore, I have come up with a solution. I made a completely new projectile stat for them to now make them more useful, but still nerfed.

Deployable tower stats:
125 Missile damage/ 125AP missile damage. Per shot. (in a salve of 3 projectiles)
Reload time is higher than other towers here (from 2 to 5)
Range: 250 (unchanged)
Accuracy: 50

Also quadrupled accuracy on all towers, to slightly compensate for their harsh nerfs.
Kind of depressing when they miss so much with already such petty stats.

Accuracy values:
Lvl 1 walled towers: 20 (40 upgraded)
Lvl 2 walled towers: 20 (40 upgraded)
Lvl 3 walled towers: 20 (40 upgraded)

Lvl 1 freestanding towers: 20 (40 upgraded)
Lvl 2 freestanding towers: 20 (40 upgraded)
Lvl 3 freestanding towers: 20 (40 upgraded)

Compatibility

The mod should be savegame compatible. Be careful of not using a mod that attempts to do the same.
