Intoduction:

Threw this together because i didn’t see any reliable x2 unit mods, only x3’s. And then some only worked for certain factions, and others for specific modpacks. Well here you go, a dedicated no fuss x2 mod for ALL vanilla rome 2 units. Inf. Cav. Arty. Navy, etc…

Works in single player campaigns, custom battles and multiplayer games (as long as everyone has the same mods)

Version 1.1: Fixed the following issues
-2 ships per unit causing collisions (reduced ship count back to 1 and increased max men per ship)
-Chariots having too many horses
Version 1.2: reverting change that removed 2 ships per unit due to spawning glitch that occurred to all naval units and transports.

Current Known Issues: as of 9-27-2025
-starting game units are unaffected by the mod. Any new units trained will have the correct number of units.
-With 2 ships per unit, the a.i does not control naval/transport units well when disembarking its units on land. It is recommended to auto-resolve these battles to prevent the congestion that will happen. Some weirdness can happen during naval battles if 1 ship is destroyed while the unit boards another. I will look into alternatives before I remove the x2 for naval units while keeping land units x2

Notes:
When playing naval battles and planning to disembark units, do not mass select multiple different units to disembark in a certain location, this will cause ship congestion and will ruin the assault. Instead, manually select each unit a different location to disembark. when using this method I have not had the ships congest together prevent unloading of troops
