-5/15/2024: Version 1.0 is released featuring the first five nations: Mugenkan, Makai, Higan, Mayohiga, and Kouryuudou.

New Nations Special Features:

REIMADEN:
– A magic focused nation with a large variety of magic paths
– Many troops bring along battlefield summons with them to support them while they shoot magical projectiles onto the enemy
– Some summons can also be recruited in the Capital
– Regular troops use different versions of mundane weapons
– Can summon tanks

Ushirodo:
– A nation mostly composed of skilled mask-wearing light infantry and mixed cavalry.
– Certain masks give certain skills for troops and possess their corpses when slain.
– Sacred fort recruit troops can be promoted while the cap only sacred troops wield season-based weapons and perform better during certain seasons
– Has access to forted terrain based sacred troops (These don’t get promotions)
– Secret Sage commanders have the ability to teleport as well.

Luna:
– A nation almost entirely focused on modern weaponry and vehicles
– Its dominion kills unforted populations in provinces belonging to Luna, while increasing the population of forted provinces.
– Held provinces with your dominion and with a diminished population gain the “Purified Land” site which grants some gold and one astral pearl each turn.
– Starts out with troops using basic firearms and gear, but also has access to the limited recruit Humvee vehicle that brings along additional battlefield summoned troops
– Additional special sites can be made: “Invasion Landing Zone” and “Enforcement Zone,” but only one for each province.
– Invasion Landing Zone gives access to better equipped and more modernized troops and includes vehicles like tanks and apcs.
– Enforcement Zone gives access to troops and vehicles specialized in both pillaging and patrolling provinces. Also has access to tanks and apcs.
– Summons are particularly powerful, with several having the spellcaster trait, sleep aura, and/or teleport ability
– All troops and commanders are quite expensive in gold and have high upkeep. But, most troops also have reduced cost in resources and recruitment points.
– Commanders also have below average command to better reflect squad-based tactics

Nation Special Features:

MUGENKAN:
– A freespawn nation that gets different freespawn troops depending on the growth/death scales, dominion scales, and special sites within a province.
– Growth/Death scales can be manipulated by the construction of magic sites which are exclusively summoned by Seedling Carriages
-Flower spires can be summoned in provinces with certain magic sites. These spires create magic gems and gives further access to other ritual summons.

MAKAI:
– All recruitable units have a minimum of 5 resistance to fire, frost, and poison damage. They also have disease resistance.
– The magic site "Encroaching Miasma" spreads to provinces that have Makai’s dominion if the province’ dominion strength is five. The site is removed if Makai loses all dominion in that province. The site increases magical scales, increases death scales, and has a chance to inflict disease to units in the province.

HIGAN:
– An undead freespawn nation that gets freespawn from dominion strength.
– Freespawn troops maintain their form in provinces with friendly dominion. When in a province without friendly dominion, they revert to a much weaker form.
– Yama commanders have access to a spell that changes their form to Enthroned Yamas, a much stronger but immobile form.
– Enthroned Yamas have access to ritual spells that allow for the summoning of Arch devils, Ice Devils, Heliophagii, and Demon Lords without the need of Blood magic.

MAYOHIGA:
– A nation comprised of enslaved size 2 humanoid cats with above average defense stats.
– The nation also has access to terrain specific troops with various specialties.
– Gap Yokai commanders have the ability to teleport and have access to combat spells that summon ethereal units that could also teleport on the battlefield.

KOURYUUDOU:
– A nation whose military is divided between the technologically advanced Yamawaro and the Tengu warrior elite.
– The Yamawaro are stealthy, use strong ranged weapons, and some of their troops can be recruited in mountain and hill provinces.
– The Tengu could fly, they have better stats, but they could only be recruited in mountain and hill provinces with forts.
– Certain stealthy commanders, when located in an enemy owned province that is adjacent to Kouryuudou, automatically create a magic site in that province. The site provides income to Kouryuudou while increasing unrest in the province. The owner of that province is informed of the creation of the site through an event and could remove the site by also removing the hidden unit within the province. For the site to remain active, the hidden commander must remain in the province, else the site is taken down.
– A special hidden site could be created in adjacent enemy provinces when at least five Yamawaro Traders are located in that province. The resulting magical site provides Kouryuudou not only with more income, but with magical gems and items as well. The site is removed if there are no more Yamawaro Traders in the province.

GOUYOKU:
– A death nation that relies on special “Oil Field” sites that spreads death scales and provides monthly gold income. Provinces owned by Gouyoku gain these special sites by having a dominion of 6 or more for the province. The sites are kept by maintaining at least a single dominion for the province.
– Has access to a summonable commander that has a 50% chance to destroy a throne of ascension located in the same province it is in per month.

KEIGA:
– A nation mostly comprised of firearm wielding units that shoot multiple times per shot. Most are either missile light cavalry troops or vicious size 4 troops with multiple attacks.
– Most units also increase unrest within a province.

KIKETSU:
– Elite infantry troops utilize improved versions of mundane weaponry
– Has access to non-forted forest recruits
– Special commanders can use the “corruptor” ability
– Base commanders have the enslave command.

EIENTEI:
– Mostly composed of troops with below average base stats but with high dark vision, twist fate, and curse luck shield.
– Owned provinces with any amount of friendly dominion changes the terrain of the province into a forest. The province loses the forest terrain if domain is lost. This is reflected with the magic site “Thick Bamboo Forest”.
– Owned UNFORTED provinces with any amount of friendly dominion adds a Rabbit Hole commander to the defense of the province. In battle, the Rabbit Hole will continually summon 2 rabbit troops per turn and activate darkness at the start of the battle. This is reflected in the magic site “Illusionary Moon”. This magic site is lost if dominion is lost in the province.
– Eientei’s Tunneler Mage can produce more Rabbit Holes per turn, but these particular Rabbit Holes do not activate darkness.
– Some of Eientei’s units are immortal.
