Description:

I decided to make a mod that reworks the Great Power Score calculation entirely as my goal was to create a more dynamic and balanced system because right now we have a system that grants you great power status just because you have an "empire" title (winks at byzantines, HRE etc).

Nethier just having lots population alone should be be enough either. Therefore it is balanced in a a way where we have old and new modifiers from economy to trade and military play an quite significant role in the calculation. I also have introduced a era based calculation system you can read above down below!

Now that things are more fair… BE AMBITIOUS!


The Era-Scaling System

The biggest change is a new 3-Era System (Early, Mid, Late) that scales up the modifiers as nations embrace new institutions. I decided to implement this ensure that smaller modifiers (like prestige or tradition) remain relevant even as population and (especially) income grow exponentially in the late game.

Early Game: 0-6 Institutions
Mid Game: 7-12 Institutions
Late Game: 13+ Institutions

How it works:

Modifiers for Population, Income, and Trade remain static across all eras

Modifiers for Provinces, Tech, Soldiers, Army size, Navy size, Traditions, Stability, and Prestige while scale up in power significantly with each era.

Example: At 100 Army Tradition, you will get +10 score in the Early Game, +25 in the Mid Game, and a "massive" +50 in the Late Game!

How it works

Dynamic Calculation: The mod hooks into the Institution system because hooking into "years" might be tooo restrictive while institutions are more dynamic as you can get them earlier or later than expected. So mod checks the number of embraced institutions and applies a specific set of static modifiers corresponding to the current Era (Early/Mid/Late).

And you dont have to worry performance wise because checks are optimized to run only when necessary.


Specific Changes

Rank Rebalance: Passive score from Ranks (HRE, Empire, Kingdom, Duchy) has been halved.

Population Nerf: The impact of raw "population scaled with control" has been reduced to encourage taller play.

Economic Buff: Total Income and Trade Capacity contribute more to your score.

Army Composition: Early game score benefits from Levies, while Late Gamescore favors Regulars (providing 3x score compared to levies).

Persistent Great Powers: It now takes double the time (2 years) to lose your Great Power status.


Not compatible with IRONMAN and ACHIEVEMENTS
You can load up existing save file with this mod, works alright.
