Description:

Mod I made addressing some of the problems I had with the military system.

Levies

I have changed up levy rates, as well as what levies are raised. I intend to add more in the futre as well.

Age of Traditions

Wealthier pop types supply more levies, soldiers produce the most levies encouraging castles and bailiffs.

Nobles: 10% Noble Cavalry (10% Mailed Knights for Monarchies, 20% Order Knights for Holy Orders)

Clergy: None (20% Crusader Knights for Holy Orders)

Burghers: 2% Footmen Levy

Soldiers: 20% Footmen Levy (20% Crusader Knights for Holy Orders)

Laborers: 3% Feudal Levy

Peasants: 1% Feudal Levy

Age of Renaissance

Wealthier pop types supply more levies, soldiers produce the most levies encouraging castles and bailiffs.

Nobles: 10% Cavalrymen Levy (10% Plated Knights for Monarchies, 20% Reformed Order Knights for Holy Orders)

Clergy: None (20% Reformed Crusader Knights for Holy Orders)

Burghers: 2% Crossbowmen Levy

Soldiers: 20% Men-At-Arms Levy (20% Reformed Crusader Knights for Holy Orders.)

Laborers: 3% Peasant Levy

Peasants: 1% Peasant Levy

Age of Discovery

Armies begin to properly professionalise whilst state power increases allowing for larger and stronger levies.

Nobles: 10% Lancer Levy (10% Cavaliers for Monarchies)

Clergy: None

Burghers: 5% Blackpowder Levy

Soldiers: 5% Blackpowder Levy (16% Lancer Levy with Lancer advance)

Laborers: 3% Blackpowder Levy

Peasants: 2% Blackpowder Levy

Age of Reformation

Further growh of the peasant levy, but losses amongst solidiers and burghers.

Nobles: 10% Heavy Lancer Levy (10% Late Cavaliers for Monarchies)

Clergy: None

Burghers: 3% Flintlock Levy

Soldiers: 3% Flintlock Levy (16% Heavy Lancer Levy with Heavy Lancer advance)

Laborers: 3% Flintlock Levy

Peasants: 3% Flintlock Levy

Age of Absolutism

Shrinkage of Levy as further professionalism takes place, only infantry levies outside of monarchies.

Nobles: 2% Militiamen Levy (10% Provincial Cavalry for Monarchies)

Clergy: None

Burghers: 2% Militiamen Levy

Soldiers: 2% Militiamen Levy

Laborers: 2% Militiamen Levy

Peasants: 2% Militiamen Levy

Age of Revolutions

Its literally called levee on mass.

Nobles: 10% Conscripts (10% Gendarmerie for Monarchies)

Clergy: 10% Conscripts

Burghers: 10% Conscripts

Soldiers: 10% Conscripts

Laborers: 10% Conscripts

Peasants: 10% Conscripts

Buildings

NO MOVED TO BUILDINGS MOD

Mercs

Mercs units now cost 1/3 that of regular units and merc leader cost is reduced by 60%, making them more viable early game.

Future Plans

More unique levies/regional differences. For instance I want urban locations to raise town militias instead.

Change up levy/manpower laws.

Cost to raising levies. I plan to give countries a war exhaustion and estate happiness hit whenever they raise levies.

Cost to declaring war. Depending on your values it will annoy the estates when you declare war (unless they already don’t like the target, you can’t declare war on countries they like if they have too much power). Possibly gold cost to declaring war to represent cost of organising the campaign.

Increased army maintenance.

Thanks

Thanks to @Mishtah_X’s Extended Authority – Forts & Bailiffs mod, ‘borrowed’ my changes to bailiffs and forts from him
