🏛️ Stability Rebalanced: A More Impactful Stability Mechanic

Tired of Stability feeling like a weak and inconsequential modifier? I felt the base game’s Stability was underwhelming and somewhat illogical in its effects. A truly stable or unstable realm should feel it in every corner of the empire. This mod dramatically overhauls the Stability mechanic, making it a powerful and critical factor in managing your realm.


⭐ Mod Highlights & New Effects

This mod reworks the

stability_impact

effects entirely, replacing the original effects with a much broader and more impactful set of modifiers that affect your Population, Estates, and Control across the realm.

Positive Stability (Stability > 0)

When your realm is stable and prosperous, your success will cascade into numerous benefits, making high Stability truly rewarding:

  • Population Growth: A bonus to Global Population Growth (+0.0025). People want to live in a stable realm.
  • Estate Management:
    • Estate Satisfaction Recovery is boosted (+0.002).
    • Estate Satisfaction Decay is less severe (-0.005).
    • Global Estate Target Satisfaction is increased (scaled).
  • Control & Integration:
    • Global Max Control is increased (+0.05).
    • Global Integration Speed is increased (+0.5).
    • Global Pop Promotion Speed is significantly boosted (+1.0).
  • Distance Cost: Distance from Capital Cost Modifier is reduced by -10% (-0.1), helping you manage far-flung territories.
  • Divine Power: Monthly Doom is reduced (-0.1) and Righteousness is increased (+0.1).


Negative Stability (Stability < 0)

Negative Stability can now truly destabilize your country, especially during wartime.

The penalty of -10 Global Max Control and the +20% Proximity Cost Modifier will plunge your state into an economic crisis and chaos. Stability is now truly VITAL.

When your realm is unstable or in turmoil, you will face serious challenges that make ignoring the issue far more dangerous:

  • Population Loss: A penalty to Global Population Growth (-0.005). People will flee an unstable land.
  • Control & Integration:
    • Global Max Control is reduced (-0.1).
    • Global Integration Speed is severely penalized (-1.0).
  • Estate Management: Global Estate Target Satisfaction is penalized (scaled).
  • Distance Cost: Distance from Capital Cost Modifier is increased by +20% (0.2), making remote areas much harder to manage.
  • Military: Global Mercenaries Modifier is increased (+0.5), making mercenaries a much more expensive option when things are rough.
  • Divine Power: Monthly Doom is heavily increased (+0.5) and Righteousness is penalized (-0.5).


⚙️ Technical Details

Both the positive and negative effects scale with the magnitude of your Stability at a multiplier of

± 0.01

. This ensures that the further your stability moves from zero, the greater the impact will be.
