This is Childish – Rare Book Mod and NPC
Bring rare literature to the wasteland with "This is Childish" by Malik Allen – a luxury collectible book for scholars and collectors.
TWO VERSIONS:
🔸 Original Edition – 8,000-12,000 cats
One of the rare originals produced by Malik Allen centuries ago. Authentic leather binding and printing marks make this a collector’s treasure.
🔸 Modern Reprint – 500-1,000 cats
A contemporary printing of the same revolutionary work. Lacks the historical value but preserves the content.
Both contain the same 50-page creative journal designed to spark wonder, reflection, and play. This isn’t a children’s book – it’s a reminder of the joy and creativity you carried as one.
A wandering scholar who recognizes rare literature and knows the lore behind the value of the book!
- Calls out to you when you walk by with the book
- Talk to them for full conversation with multiple dialogue options
- Choose polite scholarly responses or dismiss them rudely
- WARNING: Insult the book and face temporary hostility!
Both versions spawn at:
- General goods traders
- Bar traders in major cities
- Wandering caravans
- High-end luxury vendors
- Random NPCs Inventory
- Libraries
- Camps and Bases
- Basically anywhere typical rare and common books are found.
Modern Reprints are much more common. Originals aren’t cheap and rare finds searching around for it.

- Enable in Kenshi launcher
- Start NEW game OR press F12 (Import) in existing save
IMPORTANT: Must import (F12) or start new game for books and NPCs to spawn!

Q: Books not showing up?
A: Import (F12) or start new game after subscribing.
Q: Book Collector won’t call out to me?
A: You must be carrying "This is Childish" in your inventory. Walk near them and they’ll notice!
Q: Book Collector called out but won’t continue talking?
A: Click on the NPC to initiate the full conversation with dialogue choices. There is also a cooldown on speaking to the NPC to not be able to take advantage of the relationship bonus granted for a good conversation.
Q: Can I sell for profit?
A: Yes! Buy low, sell high. Originals are extremely valuable.
