Skirmish Line: "Sojutsu Master" Ancillary Edit (FotS)
This mod is only for FotS. It does not affect the ancillary of the same name in the Sengoku campaign.
This is a small mod that edits the "Sojutsu Master" ancillary to only affect spear and bayonet units. For my mod (Skirmish Line overhaul), these are:
– Yari Ki
– Yari Kachi
– Shogunate Guard Cavalry
– Kyoto Police
– Spear Levy
– Levy Infantry
– Line Infantry
– Azure Dragon Force
– Black Tortoise Force
– Vermilion Bird Force
– Kihetai
– All "Bear" infantry
– All SIR (Shogunate, Imperial, Republican) infantry
– All SIR guard infantry
– All foreign marines
This removes the melee attack bonus to traditional units not listed here. I also had to edit the "Jujutsu Master" ancillary due to both ancillaries sharing the same effect, but he should be completely vanilla.
Historically, sojutsu and French bayonet drill would be combined to form jukenjutsu.
In the future, I will make a version for ValerBOSS’s base mod. (Edit: I did it much sooner than I thought I would lol)
This mod is not required for Skirmish Line: Gameplay Overhaul. If another mod changes the ancillaries, you do not need this one.
For anyone wanting to know how to do something similar as this mod in (R)PFM:
1. Add the ancillaries.loc and effects.loc text/db files from the local_en.pack file (this will not be in your data.pack file). For the db files from your data.pack file, you will need "ancillary_to_effects_tables", "effect_bonus_value_unit_record_junctions_tables", and, "effects_tables".
2. In "ancillary_to_effects_tables", set the effect to 0 (if the effect is used by multiple ancillaries, you will need to do what I did with the Jujutsu Master; IE, repeat this thing all over again). Create a new ancillary and give it an effect.
3. In "effect_bonus_value_unit_record_junctions_tables", assign Bonus Value Id’s, the effect you made, and the units you want the ancillary to affect.
4. In "effects_tables", you will need to give that effect an icon and a priority, but also remove the icon from the ancillary’s old effect. You do this by assigning it "none" under "icon", and make sure to give a priority of -1 so it is at the bottom.
5. In the text .loc files, for the ancillaries.loc, you should know what to do. For the effects.loc, delete the entry of the effect you want to remove.
REMEMBER: with the exception of the effects you want to remove and add, the .loc files must have all their vanilla entries (but you may edit those said entries). Otherwise, some things will be missing when you play.
