Ironclad "Sui Yuan"

This ironclad was the result of military expansion from late 1880s to early 1890s of the Qing Empire. Unlike true history,thanks to the omnidirectional support of Empress Dowager Ts’u Hsi, designers and engineers jumped into the work proactively, their innovations shining throughout the constructing process.The innovative designs adopted in this ship include new armor layout, which served as a countermeasure against new Japanese ships, and the ship put the concept of the Knapsack Turrets and the Unified (Dreadnought-like) Fire Control System into practice first. However, it was very weak and vulnerable in the face of torpedoes. It took its part in the First Sino-Japanese War, but sank after a heroic and tragic battle against the besiege of Japanese torpedo boats.
