Mil Mi-8 Medium Utility Helicopter by EAK
The Mil Mi-8 "Hip" is a twin turbine medium Russian helicopter. It had it’s first flight in 1961 and was introduced into the military in 1967, It saw heavy military and civillian use, and it still does. With over 17 000 units build, this is the world’s most produced helicopter.Alongside it’s older brother, the Mi-17, these aircraft are the 3rd most operated aircraft in the world.
Most importantly, ROLL TRIM NEEDS TO BE 0.18 (You can set this by holding Alt and D)
The helicopter has a roll assisted yaw system that only comes into affect at 58 knots IAS, be careful as your turning may encounter rapid switches during this speed interval.
The aircraft is equipped with an emergency transponder, a transponder locator, bingo fuel warnings and a full fledged radio system. So you’re never stranded 🙂
The camera on the pilot side will switch to landing mode if your altitude AGL is lower than 9 meters.
Please turn off the main battery switch when dismounting the vehicle as it will help save a ton of battery.
On that note, you are advised to always keep your generator on, it doesn’t affect engine performance significantly and it will ensure you never run out of power.
