A-4E Skyhawk
A versatile and iconic single-seat, single-engine attack aircraft known for its compact size, light design, and exceptional agility. Heavily used during the Vietnam War, primarily as a light attack aircraft.
Originally made sometime in 2022, and became one of the test beds for the earliest model importer for the game created by DuckDuckGoose. Took me a while, but I finally got this one out as I got a bit busy with life. The A-4E includes custom weapons, primarily because I already made a few models before modding even came out. But more so now because I’m not a huge fan of mod dependencies; things like to break with updates (looking at you Arma Reforger).
Has a custom cockpit model, with "semi-reactive" empty variables that react only to player input rather than any actual flight data that is being simulated. If custom cockpit support is ever added in the future I’ll probably update the cockpit. Also features the brutal 720 degrees per second roll rate the A-4E had, that was nerfed a bit for the mod.
Big thanks to DuckDuckGoose for actually managing to get this model into the game back then with their importer, I even found an old screenshot of one of the first import attempts.
