Description:

Hi, this mod is *fantasy* in setting, but its roots are in historical basis to some degree. Think of how LOTR mods work, with the exception of trolls they play largely like a historical title and thats what is happening here (no, i dont have trolls). But, this mod is set in a fantasy universe with new cultures and pre-existing ones. With a larger focus on african, arabian and eastern factions. Once the campaign is done this will mimic the Imperator Augustus campaign with a large empire fractured into 3 pieces, spanning from iberia to arabia. Some new additions and changes include:
– 34 NEW factions to replace the old ones, most based on base game cultures but some new like vikings, kievan rus and indo easterners
– NEW crossbow weapons, 45 damage (10 armour pen) one main variant with 135 range and another with 105, typically with less ammo than an archer.
– NEW halberd weapon, 33 damage with 10 ap. this CAN be pikstacked as the reach of the weapon is just over half of that of a pike
– NEW mace, essentially an upgraded club with 30 damage (10 armour pen) and 5 bonus vs inf
– NEW 2-hander swordsmen. These swords can grind while packing a punch, but are vulnerable to arrows due to no shield alongside having no pila but often characterised with high weapon damage and charge bonus
– NEW grenadiers, with just 15 men the grenadiers are capable of destroying towers and walls alongside creating chaos among enemy ranks.
– NEW ranger archer type, think elite longbowmen with higher damage bows but low armour. (43 damage, 6 armour pen)
– CHANGED dogs, to now be assigned to a melee unit so that way they become more viable to bring
– NEW ability, first strike is active on 1 unit. The Etarsi Staffmasters on Dragulia, they have awful stats but this ability means that they will always hit first alongside other buffs.
– CHANGED pikes to have more average hp to be more viable
– CHANGED "pike infantry" category to "phalanx infantry" to accomodate the new halberdiers
– NOTE: when i say these factions relate to base game cultures, this is not always 100% due to ew weapons and also for the sake of faction variety.
– NOTE: look closely when selecting units, i have messed with man count on some.
– NOTE: Some factions have access to character or "lore" units. all of these units will be capped at one and have a long description. The character units are like kings and queens to add depth to the factions, the "lore" units fulfill the same role but ALWAYS have a basis in a historical event from any time period.
