[REP] Insane difficulty
Here you die.
INSANE MODE, a mod that makes vanilla Hard mode much harder.
– fixed gamebreaks WIP. now fixed: Diplo(+jera) + wild card, lost + pound of flesh, d20 in greedier, clear rune + jera + batteries…… and more
– challenges reworked
– more than 1 curse can be active on the floor in Hard/Greedier (up to 6 curses at the same time)
– shortened some animations of some bosses and monsters
– item rarities (weights). the more powerful the item, the more rarely it will appear (itempools.xml)
– changed a lot of pocket item’s mimic charges (pocketitems,xml)
– adjusted all item costs in devil deals and shops, added 10$, 20$ and 30$ costs based on their power (items.xml)
– modified all item pools, made them more thematic. for example c section is like epic fetus now, mostly will be found in secret rooms and has low weight in treasure rooms. 2nd example, curse room pool is equal to devil deal pool, and more… (itempools.xml)
– several items are slightly changed/rebalanced (items.xml)
– modified Tainted Lost’s item pool, removed basically EVERY invincibility and revival items (items_metadata.xml)
– lowered overall damage multiplier in Hard and Greedier (you can turn it off in the ConfigEffects.lua file)
– no devil deal stealing in Hard/Greedier. You need to have enough health (if character doesn’t have health, he won’t be able to take devil deals). And bone hearts count as heart containainers only for Forgotten in Hard/Greedier, for example, you won’t be able to take an item that costs 2 red containers if you have 1 container and 1 bone heart.
– a lot of enemies have their shot speed increased in Hard and Greedier by some %, also enemies are moving a little bit faster if Hard mode is on
– added new vfx and sfx to some enemies, + brought back a lot of Flash vfx (might be bugs)
– all challenges are now played in Hard mode
– all defensive familliars have their hitbox reduced (similar to Flash)
– Joker card uses The Fool starting from level 5 in Hard Mode and level 3 in Greedier (from Flash)
– bomb pickups now have a 18% chance to turn into Troll Bombs in Hard and Greedier, 50% for golden bombs (from Flash hard mode)
– Peep’s and Bloat’s eyes, Peeping Fatty’s eyes, Pustules, Vis Fatties, Blighted Ovum now explode/have a chance to explode in a burst of tears after they die
– Boom Flies now have a 1% chance to spawn a Mega Troll Bomb after they die (from Flash)
– changed the behavior of some enemies and bosses
– Added full heart damage to several enemies and bosses
– Eternal flies now have 5 times more HP than a regular attack fly
– Troll bomb explosion radius is increased by 30% (similar to Flash)
– added contact damage to Ultra Sucker, Bishop and Hanger
– shell game item pool now consists of all the Oh Crap transformation items
– keys now have a 25% chance to be deleted if they appear in Hard and Greedier starting from the 2nd chapter, they won’t be deleted in Mines 2 and Ashpit 2
– bosses don’t drop hearts in Hard mode
– all batteries turn into micro batteries in Hard and Greedier modes
– fireplaces will turn into red fireplaces with a 13% chance in Hard/Greedier mode
– blue fireplaces will turn into purple fireplaces with a 25% chance in Hard and Greedier
– charged keys will turn into regular keys with a 50% chance in Hard/Greedier mode
– added a 25% chance for hearts to be deleted in Hard/Greedier, the chance is increased to 33% starting from chapter 4. Also all full hearts will turn into half hearts starting from chapter 4 in Hard/Greedier mode (including soul, scared, double, black and blended hearts).
– harder versions of enemies can replace the easy ones sometimes, in Hard mode (e.g. Mulliboom -> Mulligan, Bulb -> Fly, including some cool unused variants)
– restock machines have a 60% chance to be replaced by donation machines in Hard/Greedier
– room clear awards have a 25% chance to be removed in Hard mode
– gold pennies and lucky pennies now have a chance to turn into pennies in Hard/Greedier (20% for gold and 50% for lucky)
– gold keys have a 50% to turn into keys in Hard/Greedier
– bone hearts will turn into rotten hearts with a 50% chance in Hard/Greedier
– gold batteries and mega batteries now have a chance to turn into microbatteries in Hard/Greedier (20% chance for gold and 50% for mega)
– black sacks have a 75% chance to turn into sacks in Hard/Greedier
– red chests have a 25% chance to be deleted in Hard/Greedier (replaced by flies)
– wood chests have a 75% chance to turn into regular chests in Hard/Greedier
– gold hearts have a 50% chance to turn into pennies (random penny)
– fortune machines have a 66% chance to be replaced by slot machines in Hard/Greedier. Key and bomb beggars have a chance to replace regular beggars and devil beggars in Hard/Greedier (50%). Battery bums have a 75% chance to turn into rotten beggars. Confessionals will turn into soul hearts with a 75% chance
– a lot of item costs and charges adjusted
item changes:
– ludovico technique now gives +0.32 shot speed up and +0.16 with each copy
– the belt got an additional effect, it gives +0.3 speed up for 2.5 seconds after getting hit by non-self damage sources
– eraser is now a single-use but it costs only 5 coins in the shop
– lump of coal now gives -2 luck with each copy
some Hard/Greedier exclusive changes:
– guppy’s paw now converts 1 red container into 2 soul hearts instead of 3. It also received a timed charge and it recharges in 90 seconds instead of no recharge
– mom’s knife got a 0.5x damage multiplier and you will get additional 0.9x multiplier with each copy
– inner eye got a 0.9x damage multiplier and you will get additional 0.94x multiplier with each copy
– mutant spider got a 0.9x damage multiplier and you will get additional 0.94x multiplier with each copy
– anti-gravity gives +0.5 tear rate instead of +1
– cricket’s body got a 0.75x damage multiplier, doesn’t give tears and the range multiplier is 0.5x instead of 0.8x
– tech.5 got a 0.8x damage multiplier
– 20/20 got a 0.75x damage multiplier instead of 0.8x and you will get additional 0.94x multiplier with each copy
– brimstone lost 1 laser tick
– godhead aura deals 1 flat damage instead of 2
– blue spiders and blue flies deal 1.5x of player’s damage instead of 2x, they will deal 2x damage if you have hive mind
– stop watch gives -0.2 speed down. multiple copies give nothing
– c section got a 0.7x damage multiplier, so overall damage multiplier is 0.525x because fetus tears deal 0.75x of player’s damage
– holy mantle needs 3 cleared rooms after it was lost to be active again
– explosivo got a 0.66x tears multiplier
– only babies that shoot now contribute to the conjoined transformation (items_metadata.xml)
– item quality changes (items_metadata.xml)
– item tags changes (items_metadata.xml)
– Lost, Tainted Lost and Jacob’s ghost form now can not pickup spike pickups (from pound of flesh item) in Hard/Greddier. Also this mechanic i mean not being able to pickup devil deals without enough health now should work properly with tainted forgotten (disabled for j&e for now because bugs keep happening with them, the code is working correctly in rep+ but not in rep :/ )
– thunder thighs is now -0.25 speed instead of -0.4 and +2hp up instead of +1
– isaac’s tears is 3 charges instead of 6
– lemon mishap and mom’s pad are 1 charge
– mom’s bra is 2 charges but the effect duration is shorter
– mega mush’s effect duration is 40% shorter
– strange attractor now gives +0.5 fire rate
– tiny planet got a 1.125x damage multiplier
