Description:

Paint the map your way. This mod lets you customize your country’s map color through a simple, vanilla style flow: use a character interaction on any character in your realm to open the Country Color Customizer situation, then pick a new color instantly from an organized palette. Or just steal someone else’s national color.

Whether you want bold heraldic tones, softer vanilla like shades, or a fully personalized color, this gives you clean control over how your nation appears on the map.

[ COUNTRY COLOR CUSTOMIZER SITUATION ]

After enabling the customizer via the character interaction on any character in your realm, a dedicated situation panel becomes available. From there you can:

– Browse 11 color families (Reds, Blues, Greens, Yellows, Oranges, Purples, Blacks, Whites, Teals, Pinks, Browns) with over 80 named colors total organized into pages so the list stays easy to navigate.
– Set a Named Color: choose from a curated palette and apply it instantly to your country.
– Copy Another Country’s Color: select a target nation and copy their map color.
– Restore Original Color: revert to your original map color at any time (see notes).
– Custom Color: edit a single RGB slot directly in the mod files to set a fully personalized color.

[ TOGGLE ]

The situation is controlled by a character interaction. Use it once to open the customizer, and again to close it. The interaction appears on any character belonging to your country, click it on your ruler, a general, a governor, or anyone else in your country’s character list. This means subjects with external rulers such as dominions are fully supported.

[ COMPATIBILITY ]

Designed to be compatible with most mods. The AI will not use any features in this mod.

[ NOTES ]

Save Compatibility: You can add this mod to an existing save and change colors normally, but the Restore Original Color feature requires the mod to have been active from the start of the campaign to work correctly.

Custom Color Slot: To use the Custom color option, edit the RGB value in:
main_menu/common/named_colors/ccc_named_colors.txt
Note that this value resets on mod updates, it’s the best available solution for now, but a cleaner system is something I’d like to improve in the future.

I consider myself an amateur modder, especially when it comes to GUI work, so some of the logic and workarounds may be a bit crude, but it gets the job done. Constructive feedback is always welcome.
