War Dynamics: Commander Focus
This mod aims to integrate real-time combat elements, allowing players to engage in warfare with realism and immersion.
It reflects a character’s real-time status in their ability to conduct warfare. It is designed to be AI-friendly and includes elements that are somewhat anti-player, thereby increasing the difficulty and depth of warfare.
⚔️ Key Features
1. War & Peace
Every liege with a title of Duke or higher will adopt either a [Warlike] or [Pacifist] stance.
Fluid Trait: This trait is not fixed. ‘Warlike’ experience increases during [War], while ‘Pacifist’ experience increases during [Peace]. The two stances are mutually exclusive and counterbalancing.
Gradual Change: Abrupt ideological shifts are impossible. It will take years for a staunch Pacifist to become a warmonger, and vice versa.
2. Royal Campaign
If a ruler with a title of King or higher leaves their comfortable court to personally command the troops, they are met with deserved recognition.
Royal Campaign Trait: The ruler gains the ‘Royal Campaign’ trait when serving as a commander, accumulating experience based on the duration of their service.
Glory to the Dynasty: Upon reaching a high level, a House Modifier is bestowed upon the ruler’s entire house for years to come.
Honorable Death: If a prestigious king falls in battle while commanding, a special modifier is added to the house members along with the tragic news, commemorating the legacy of the fallen.
3. Combat Sense
Warfare cannot be conducted by theory alone. Every commander needs time to adapt to the field after their appointment.
Accumulated Proficiency: Commanders acquire the ‘Commander’ and ‘Combat Sense’ modifiers within one month of their appointment.
Replacement Penalty: ‘Combat Sense’ stacks up to 5 times. This means a commander who has led a unit for a long time is overwhelmingly superior to a newly appointed, inexperienced commander. The player’s previous habit of frequently swapping commanders based on their traits right before a battle will now be a bad move that drastically reduces the unit’s efficiency.
