Star Wars Geonosis (1:40)
Geonosis is a mountainous desert planet located in the outer rim. From orbit it looks nothing out of the ordinary, but moving closer to its surface, more specifically towards the ancient Petranaki Arena, you might be able to make out huge spherical Core Ships dug hundreds of meters into the planet’s surface. These core ships are being loaded to the brim with Separatist vehicles and battle droids. On the surface it is not immediately obvious where these rows of vehicles entering the ships are coming from. The secret lies beneath its surface, where extensive battle droid foundries and vehicle factories, spitting out huge volumes of war material to the CIS war effort towards the Galactic Republic.
Geonosis is therefore invaded multiple times, each time slowing down production and damaging the factories. All while this is happening the Republic is constructing a jolly old space station, which will see use later on. When in the end the Galactic Republic have been reorganized into the Galactic Empire, the station needs to be moved, to begin its final stage of construction. This is bad luck Geonosis, since the space station still at the time, is a secret few people even in high positions in the Empire knows of. This leads to the sterilization of the planet, wiping out virtually the entire population of Geonosisans. Just another loose end dealt with by the Empire.
Geonosis is heavily featured in Attack Of The Clones, and in animated series as well.
This 1:40-scaled map of Geonosis features the approximate area around Petranaki arena before the Republic’s first invasion of the planet. It features:
– Detailed replica of Petranaki Arena
– 3 Core ships
– 3 separate battle droid and vehicle factories with full interior and lighting
– Detailed mountains and plateaus
– A few bridges in the landscape
– 2000×2000-voxel map (8×8 km in 1:40)
– An unexpected easter egg
This map took about 5 weeks to create, so it has taken a lot of effort to bring this to you; I hope you like it. But it is not done yet, and I expect to bring these updates in the future:
– Volumetric lighting in the Core ship
– More terrain
– Extra detail for Petranaki Arena
– Possibly Dookus secret lair, where he fights Anakin and Obi-Wan in Attack Of The Clones
