Elder Kings Expanded: Vampirism Update
Elder Kings Expanded is a submod project for the Elder Kings II total conversion for Crusader Kings III, designed to add even more content to the world of Tamriel. It is made by a former member of the original team and strives to maintain its degree of quality and lore adherence
• New narrative content surrounding the conflict between Mannimarco and Vanus Galerion. Experience the dynamic rise of the Worm Cult to power, which can lead to a new midgame crisis providing a worthy challenge to the player
• Adds many Special Buildings to those provinces still lacking them. Many of them are connected to new events and decisions, especially those of interest to rulers wielding necromantic magic
• Reworked and reintegrated Crisis Faction system. During times of instability, bandits, necromancers, cultists, or suppressed species may try to take over local strongholds. Global events, such as Mannimarco coming to power, may influence these factions
• Reintegrated missing Dynasty Legacies if the neccessary DLC is purchased and reworked the adventure legacy to focus on landless gameplay. Added various prerequsites to unlock new and existing legacies
• Added nomadic gameplay for the Ashlanders in Morrowind. Inlcuding new units, ashstorm seasons, new camp illustrations and various flavor changes to keep it consistent within Elder Scrolls lore
• Added the entire island of Solstice to the southern sea, including new cultures, faiths, special buildings, terrain textures, and events, as well as a major new gameplay goal: the Wraithforge. This vile place can turn any army into an unstoppable force, but the price is steep….
• Overhauled Hist communions with new events and actions. Some of these features are now also available to faiths that are syncretic with the Hist.
• Added Witchcraft as a new school of magic with its own spells and rituals. It is intended to reflect the use of untamed magic, often related to the Daedric Princes. As such, it offers powerful but unpredictable tools and does not come without downsides.
• Overhauled Vampirism, introducing a new Bloodthirst system, powerful Blood Magic, a wide range of new events, expanded character interactions, a unique vampiric dynasty legacy, and much more. Vampirism is now both a path to great power and a real curse to be endured.
• Integrated parts of Jam’s New Cultures and Map Edits. This includes Sea Giant and Sea Orc cultures, as well as changes to the distribution of Witchmen and Illniviri on the map.
• Fixes various bugs and errors in the main mod, such as the inability of AI rulers to use the Promote Culture task.
Requires: Elder Kings II (latest version)
May conflict with other submods unless a compatibility patch is provided.
Parts of this mod were created with the support of generative AI.
Since this seems to be a recurring topic of discussion here, I want to make a clearer statement regarding AI usage.
AI tools were primarily used to translate, refine, and correct my own writing. I am not a native English speaker, and while I prefer to put my own ideas on paper, AI helps me bring them into a more polished form. Beyond that, AI was used for a small number of 2D assets that would otherwise have been out of scope, or occasionally to brainstorm names, loose concepts, or ideas during development.
I am aware that many people have reservations about the use of AI. I personally use it strictly as a supporting tool and an extension of my own work, not as a replacement. A significant portion of this mod is entirely handcrafted, thanks to the work of human artists, such as the new papermap for Solstice and the illustrated Ashlander camps.
That said, without AI tools helping to reduce the workload of more tedious tasks, this project would not be possible in its current scope, given the limited amount of free time I have.
I would appreciate it if the comment section could focus on discussing the mod itself rather than continuing debates about AI usage.
Special thanks to the original team of Elder Kings, who are keeping this fantastic project alive!
