Description:

A lightweight mod designed to deal with exponential character growth, given proper handling of marriages in court.

You might have noticed that later on in the game some menus, mostly character related ones, lag when opening. That is due to character count bloat, this is especially relevant if you use the extremely popular "Nobles Auto Marry" mod for automation.

A couple of hundred years into the game, you will end up with thousands of character available to you, most of them completely unnecessary and are only there to lag your game.

This is where this mod comes in, it slowly and invisibly (no death popup) culls your court, starting from the most unneeded characters and making its way up the character ladder, until you have somewhere around 500 characters in your nation.

The mod prioritizes culling in the following order:
– Untolerated Heathens;
– Untolerated Heretics;
– Untolerated Cultures;
– The old, infirm and infertile;
– Mercenary leaders;
– Normal characters;
– Crown estate characters (If somehow even possible to have this many).

Important characters, like ruling dynasty members, appointed generals, cabinet members, artists, explorers, etc.. Will be ignored by the culling.

Characters with bad stats will always be culled before characters with good stats (given other conditions are satisfied). Once court population drops to somewhere close to 500, culling adult characters will be prioritized before children. Effects both players and AI, but AI normally doesn’t get such bloated courts anyways.

Mod is completely safe to add and remove mid campaign.

Note: the mod takes out 100 characters per month per nation due to game stability reasons, so it will take some time to properly effect more matured game saves. You can just spam the "event courtculling.1" in the console to get the desired effect immediately (make sure you’re keeping track of your character count if doing this method, triggering the event manually bypasses the condition of 500 minimum in court).
