The Battle of the Leopold Canal (Oct 1944) was a brutal, successful Allied operation during the Battle of the Scheldt in Belgium and the Netherlands. Canadian forces, including the Royal Montreal Regiment, overcame flooded terrain and intense German resistance using flamethrower-equipped Wasps to cross the canal, securing vital routes to the port of Antwerp.
