Side Quest – Armoury
What This Mod Does
- This purpose of this mod is to correct 100s of errors in vanilla kenshi that impact weapon loadouts of characters, add in a small amount of vanilla-friendly armours, and a few weapons that are in the developer files but were not implemented in the final game.
- This mod is incoporated into my vanilla overhaul – Side Quest, but if you do not wish to use that overhaul then this mod will fix all vanilla character loadouts and add a small amount of vanilla friendly weapons and armour.
Changes
- THOUSANDS of vanilla NPC characters checked BY HAND one-by-one to ensure their loadouts are valid.
- Vanilla weapon model meshes swapped out for a variation of Conventional Weapons Replacer, Semi-Realistic Weapons, Sharper Blunts, or Hackers Reskin.
- Weapons in the files but cut from final game re-added including Skeleton Cleaver, Greated Ringed Sabre, Great Ringless Sabre, Horse Lopper, Crude Meat Cleaver, Flat Topper, Shinobi Blade, Flayed Sabre.
- Restored or added vanilla-friendly textures for multiple weapon types
- Added vanilla-friendly Shinobi boots, martial artist bindings
- Replaced Dustcoat texture
- Replaced wooden sandals texture
- Samurai Skimmer Helmet variant (Shosha) and Horned Helmet variant (Taisho) added to Officers and higher-ranked Samurai, respectively.
- Crunk’s Color Data & Armor List Tweaks
- Vanilla-friendly belt slot items added – Drifter Goggles (neck), Drifter Goggles (forehead), half-gas masks, multiple eye protection variants and fog protection variants
- Drifter Goggles and Ashlander Goggles moved to belt slot from Hat slot
- Crunk’s Color Data & Armor List Tweaks filling all the neglected nooks and crannies like a Thomas’s English Muffin.
What is "Side Quest"?
- Side Quest – Vanilla Plus Overhaul
- This vanilla-friendly mod is designed to add, edit, and build out many different components of the Kenshi experience while remaining as compatible and close to the original vanilla experience as possible. Generally nothing game-breaking, major edits to primary towns or cities, or drastic world state changes.
- The idea is that you could generally run this alongside loads of other mods and still have a compatible experience, just as Anrhaa includes it in his 700+ MEGA Kaizo/Vanilla+ Modpack.
- Thousands of lore-friendly tweaks to existing weapons, armour, and textures; additions of weapons from the developer cutting room floor (but left in the files).
- All done while balancing additions to not cause bloat or over-saturation of too many changes at once to a particular faction, group, or area of the game.
- Contains all individual components below plus many more changes, fixes, and tweaks while remaining as vanilla-friendly and compatible as possible.
Individual Components
- Side Quest – Armoury
- Side Quest – Bounty Hunters
- Many more individual components planned, and will be implemented as both separate mods and added to this compilation over time so you can pick and choose what to include in your Kenshi experience.
This is all done as a love letter to Kenshi, and a hefty clap on the back of gratitude to the modders above and all others that paved the way to make the Kenshi experience better for everyone.
