About This Mod
This mod fills in historical celebrities and folklore/legendary figures who were alive in the 867 / 1066 / 1178 start dates but missing from vanilla CK3.
Full content overview:
867 Start Date
1) Added Characters
Historical figures: Lu Guimeng, Zheng Gu, Xu Tang, Pang Xun, Wang Xianzhi, Chen Zhongze (Tian Lingzi), Chen Jingxuan, Cao Quanzhen, Liu Jurong, Zhang Lin, Zhou Pu, Shang Rang, Shang Junzhang, Zhuozhuo, Yunying, Xu Yueying, Wang Yanzhang, Meng Kai, and the entire Wang Shi family.
Folklore/legendary figures: Jing Shisanniang, Zhao Zhongli, Li Zhenglang, Li Sanshijiu, Zhuge Yin, Lü Yongzhi, Kang Chengxun and his son(s), Liu Zhan — including their real historical connections with historical figures.
2) New Relationships / Interactions
Pi Rixiu and Lu Guimeng are now friends in-game. Likewise, Guanxiu now has more friends such as Zheng Gu and Xu Tang.
Wang Xianzhi starts as a wanderer roaming the Central Plains.
Huang Chao starts knowing Wang Xianzhi, and his court gains two “capable” aides: Shang Rang and Shang Junzhang. (Just kidding — historically they didn’t perform well, so I gave them very low stats.)
Meng Kai has also joined the roster!
3) Courtesans / Singers
Added three singing courtesans: Zhuozhuo, Yunying, Xu Yueying.
Yunying is now Luo Yin’s lover.
4) Extra Character Sets
Added Wang Yanzhang, the entire family of Wang Duo from vanilla (someone asked me to add Wang Shi; I searched and found he had brothers in the vanilla bookmark, so I made them all), plus all characters from the Jing Shisanniang story in Taiping Guangji.
5) Adventurer Update
Pang Xun is now an adventurer, located in Guizhou.
1066 Start Date
1) Added Characters
Historical figures: Qian Yi, Pang Anshi, Li Shishi, Li Niannu.
Folklore/legendary figures: Mu Guiying, Ximen Qing, Wu Song, Wu Dalang, Pan Jinlian, Li Kui, Yan Poxi, Zhang Wenyuan, Wu Yong, Guan Sheng, Chai Jin, Lu Zhishen, Qin Ming… plus a large batch of Water Margin heroes, and characters related to “Saving Fengchen” (救风尘) — including their real historical links to historical figures.
2) Relationship Web
Qin Guan ↔ Li Shishi, Ximen Qing ↔ Pan Jinlian, Yan Poxi ↔ Zhang Wenyuan are now lovers.
Li Kui & Wu Yong are now friends with Song Jiang.
3) Playability / Starting Setups
Song Jiang starts with Li Kui, Wu Yong, and Yan Poxi already supporting him.
Now Ximen Qing, Chai Jin, and Li Jun are playable!
4) New Artifact
Artifact update: Pan Clan’s Private Brew.
5) Lore-Friendly Placement + Nicknames
The Liangshan heroes now appear in the regions where their stories place them, and they each have unique nicknames.
“Mixed River Dragon” Li Jun leads his crew preparing to invade Thailand — you can find them on an island in the South China Sea (Water Margin: The Sequel / 水浒后传).
1178 Start Date
1) Added Characters
Historical figures: Zhu Shuzhen, Dai Fugu, Weng Juan, Xu Zhao, Shi Dazu, Zhou Youfang (Yan Rui), Liu Wansu, Zhang Congzheng, Dang Huaiying, Wang Tingyun, Zhao Feng, Yue Lei, Yue Lin, Yue Zhen, Yue Fu, Yue Shen, all descendants of Han Shizhong, the Quanzhen Seven Masters, Wu Xi, and the Qin Hui family.
Folklore/legendary figures: Xu Xian, Bai Suzhen, Guo Jing.
2) Gameplay Tweaks (for Playability)
Zhu Shuzhen is made 10 years younger for gameplay reasons — otherwise she would start at 43, leaving players little chance to have descendants with her.
Weng Juan is moved one year earlier so he starts at 16 (adult threshold) and can receive an education trait.
Guo Jing is also born earlier.
3) Yue Fei Genealogy + Positions
Added the full Yue Fei family genealogy and all living descendants in 1178 — everyone who should be alive now exists at game start.
Yue Lin, Xu Xian, and Qin Xun are now playable.
Yue Lin, Han Yanzhi, and others hold offices in locations consistent with historical records.
4) Relationship Network
Yan Rui starts as Tang Zhongyou’s lover, Zhu Xi’s rival, and Yue Lin’s friend.
Xu Zhao ↔ Ye Shi and Wang Tingyun ↔ Zhao Bingwen are now friends.
5) Han Shizhong Line + Zhao Shen Fix
Added all descendants of Han Shizhong. Rebuilt the genealogy using vanilla Han Yangu’s family as a base, and also fixed Zhao Shen’s family line.
6) New Artifact
Artifact update: “Shuzhen Ci” (I didn’t name it Duanchang Ji to avoid potential naming conflicts later).
7) Nicknames
Added nicknames for Xu Shilin and Zhou Youfang.
Notes on Compatibility
This mod is meant purely to add historical figures and enrich the East Asian character pool, improving immersion and historical flavor.
It does not add any new mandatory playable characters, and in theory it should not conflict with other mods.
(Below is the author’s “rambling” flavor text)
867 — Late Tang: Storm Before the Collapse
In 867, a shadow of disasters and turmoil hangs over the Great Tang. In the near future, a massive peasant uprising will deal the final blow to this crumbling dynasty, and everyone is searching for a way out.
The Shang brothers have already rallied under Huang Chao, ready to follow him to the death. Wang Xianzhi still wanders the Central Plains — will he accept his brother’s invitation and step into the coming chaos?
Deep within the Tang palace, an eight-year-old Crown Prince has already taken Tian Lingzi as his “father.” When war finally erupts, where will the Chen brothers drag the empire next?
Meanwhile, Luo Yin revisits Zhongling and meets Yunying again. With her teasing indifference, he writes bitterly:
“I am not yet famous, and you are not yet wed — perhaps we are both simply less than others.”
Thus the anecdote of “Yunying still unwed” is born. Perhaps the fall of Tang no longer concerns us; better to sink into the dreams of Jianghuai and listen to the murmurs of singing courtesans.
1066 — Song: Romance, Scandal, and Legends Walking the Streets
In 1066, the prosperous Song is drenched in tales of love and desire. In Qinghe County of Xingzhou, an ethical drama unfolds: the tiger-slaying hero returns, only to break with his sister-in-law. His brother stays dutiful — but cannot stop the red apricot branch from reaching beyond the wall.
Not far to the south, Song Jiang of Liangshan is recruiting — already gathering the greatest warrior of the age and a folk “rival Zhuge Liang,” determined to give this “peaceful golden era” something to remember.
Even the imperial capital cannot escape: a famed courtesan named Li Shishi rises like a comet, shaking the whole city. Her appearance feels like the most beautiful embodiment of the Song’s flourishing splendor.
Raise a cup to the east wind, and take things calmly — this is the Song.
1178 — If You Could Turn Back Ten Years…
In 1178, Zhu Shuzhen—over 43 years old—nears her death. Historically, she was trapped in an unhappy marriage all her life, gloomy and unfulfilled; after death, her poems were burned, and she was slandered with a reputation of impurity.
But what if the great hand of time pulled her age back by ten years — can you rewrite her fate?
Yue Fei: a name that leaves the Southern Song court with complicated feelings. Thirty-six years have passed since his death at Fengbo Pavilion. A newly enthroned young emperor burns with ambition, hoping to restore Yue Fei’s honor.
Yue Lin, the most famous heir of the clan and the man who resolved the Yan Rui incident—can he fulfill what his father never could?
At the same time, in the lesser-known corners around Hangzhou, a folk tale called “Legend of the White Snake” begin
