(Unoffical) TDD Extra Garrison
This mod adds extra garrisons to key settlements and improves watchtowers.
Watchtowers are now really worth their upkeep, providing two additional Tier 2 units
(Tier 3 at level 3+) for every faction.
In addition, key settlements receive extra garrison units for their original owners,
using lore-appropriate and faction-specific troops. Usual this is two T4 units and two T3 units, but it can differ.
Settlements that are not at a front and/or are crucial for the survial of a faction get a few more garrison units.
For example: Gundabad gets 6 extra elite units for better survival, while Goblin-town gets a horde of goblins. Dol Amroth is guarded by Swan Knights from the beginning, Minas Tirith by the Fountain Guard, etc. Umbar’s garrison has been completely reworked and now consists only of Corsair and Umbar troops now.
The goal is to create tougher battles for key settlements without making the AI too
passive. As a result, contested regions such as Osgiliath did not receive any buffs.
This is an unofficial submod for The Dawnless Days.
It is save-game compatible and does not alter vanilla TDD garrisons
(the only exception is Umbar). It only adds additional troops.

- Harad: Umbar
- Isengard: Isengard
- Lothlórien: Caras Galadhon
- Mordor / Dol Guldur: Barad-dûr, Morannon, Minas Morgul, Dol Guldur
- Woodland Realm: Thranduil’s Halls
- All Factions: All Watchtowers
- Newly added garrison units do not start at full strength and need time to replenish.
I strongly recommend to also use Desgun’s Fixering Submod otherwise some limited Gondor Units are used by the garrison.
