Description:

With current trade tuning as of 1.0.8, it is generally not profitable to sell raw colonial goods back to your domestic markets in Europe. This is largely because of the trade capacity usage multiplier based on distance between markets. This mod does 2 things:

1) Sharply reduces said trade capacity usage multiplier based on distance. In other words, the distance between markets will increase the trade capacity that a trade route uses much less.

2) Reduced trade maintenance from 0.50/capacity to 0.25/capacity. I did this because while the above change wasn’t tuned highly enough to make all the trades that should have been profitable, profitable, I didn’t want to flatten distance differences even more because I risked homogenizing global trade and the interactions of different European markets in an unflavourful way. Reducing trade maintenance disproportionaly helps trades between distance markets stay profitable because these trades use more capacity, and maintenance is scaled to capacity used. I actually don’t think trade maintenance outside the already existing maintenance of market buildings/navies actually simulates anything particularly interesting or important but I didn’t want to completely brick trade maintenance reduction modifiers scattered throughout the game.

Enjoy!
