Development
9K400 designed in 1985 by TsKB Almaz as cheaper more tactical supplement to stategic S-300 system, developed from Buk missile with improved seeker and booster, combined with search and aquisition PESA radar itself deep modification of zaslon radar, system is deployed in semi-mobile fashion on trailers similiar to US Patriot system…all that to lower cost. It took place of old S-125 sites and as air defence for army corps.
