Talladega Roval
Talladega Roval
Track type: Historic Track
The Talladega Road Course was real. It was a 6.4 km (4‑mile) road course (Roval) that hosted IMSA GT Championship sports‑car races in the 1970s, and a 6‑hour endurance event in 1978. However, a planned 6‑hour race by IMSA for 1979 was canceled, and IMSA withdrew from Talladega since. After the 80s, no national‑level series raced on the road course again. Possible reasons being due to logistic issues, low attendance, and the low priority compared to Daytona which led IMSA and other series (like the AMA Superbikes) to later abandon it.
