The Lord of Duels mod allows you to challenge enemy lords to intense one-on-one duels during field battles in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord.
### How to use
– Cycle through visible enemy lords: V
– Challenge selected lord: M
– Spectator Formations: Period key
### Duel outcomes
– If you win:
– The enemy lord may be permanently killed after the battle (configurable risk % in settings).
– If Troops Flee On Defeat is enabled and the defeated lord was the army general (not just a captain), a percentage of the enemy army’s troops will have their morale set low and flee (percentage set in settings).
– If you lose:
– There is a configurable risk (default 40%) that your character will be permanently killed after the battle.
– If Troops Flee On Defeat is enabled and you were the army general, a percentage of your troops will flee (same percentage setting).
Important:
Troop fleeing only happens when the army general dies in the duel – not when a subordinate lord/captain is defeated. This applies to both sides.
### Key features
– Duel initiation only works in open field battles.
– Last blow rule: The mod effects (kill risk + troop flee) only trigger if the duel opponent delivers the killing blow. If another soldier kills the lord, nothing special happens from this mod.
– Permanent death uses the game’s native ‘KillCharacterAction.ApplyByBattle’
– Duel zone (optional): When enabled, creates a protected area around the duelists. Other troops cannot enter, and mounted enemy lords dismount when close. Zone activates when opponent gets near (~40 units) and deactivates when duel ends. Message appears in bottom left.
– Enemy lord ranged weapons: Can be forced to hold fire (enabled by default).
– Spectator formations: Both armies line up opposite each other to watch the duel.
– Lord can refuse: Lords with Valor (Daring) or Honor traits almost always accept; Calculating lords may refuse based on fight skills, army power, and flee risk (disabled by default).
– Fallback system to force AI lords to approach the player during duels if their movement is blocked by other mods.
– Customizable input keys: Change cycle lords, challenge to duel, and toggle spectator formations via MCM settings (default: V, M, Period)
