The 1971 Plymouth GTX represents the final chapter of the GTX as a standalone model—and one of the most refined expressions of classic Mopar muscle. Often called the “gentleman’s muscle car,” the ’71 GTX blended upscale comfort with serious performance, wrapped in Plymouth’s aggressive fuselage styling that defined the early ’70s.
Under the hood, the GTX could be ordered with legendary big-block power, including the 440 Six-Barrel and the iconic 426 HEMI, cementing its reputation as both a luxury cruiser and a street-dominating brute. With only ~2,942 units produced, the 1971 GTX remains one of the rarest and most desirable B-Bodies ever built.
