Layers: Enhanced Decor!
TLDR: Introducing Layers: an enhanced decor mod that adds literal new layers to the game. With this mod, you can now place furniture on the same tiles as other furniture, have rain behind windows, etc. Talk about revolutionary..
Are you a builder? Do you love building detailed interiors with depth and coziness? I’ve made a mod to make decorating feel limitless, allowing you to place objects exactly where you want them without those stupid collision restrictions. Do you think Terraria’s vanilla ‘one item per tile’ rule feels too restrictive? This mod lets you really take control of your furniture placement, layering objects endlessly to create that depth and detail.
This mod introduces a "Ghost" system. When you place a piece of furniture over another, the game intelligently converts them into layered (ghost) objects, allowing you to put paintings behind plants, lamps on cluttered tables, or cobwebs over everything. On top of that, this mod adds a dedicated Layering UI menu. Press ‘L’ (by default) while hovering over a stack of furniture to open a menu where you can reorder exactly which items appear in front or behind others!
Yeah, Layers expands Terraria from one layer to multiple, furniture wise. Advanced saving and loading optimised right into your world save, and essentially a complete overhaul to building in Terraria. This mod is a DLC to Cozy Houses.
– Furniture Layers!: Place furniture directly over existing furniture. The mod automatically handles the conversion, allowing for infinitely placed furniture on top of eachother.
– {NEW!} Block Layers!: Place blocks on top of existing blocks (when toggled on). This completely overhauls all texturing and etc. In the future there will also be an opacity slider for layered blocks, for those texturing builders. Toggling this off will fix extractinator bugs.
– Quickswitch Layers: Middle click (by default) to quickly switch layers of two overlapping furniture objects.
– Layer Management Menu: A draggable, scrollable UI window that allows you to organise layers in a cluster of furniture. Reorder ghost furniture (furniture on top) and physical blocks with nice looking Up/Down buttons to organise your builds. You must go into controls to set a keybind (Default ‘L’), and opening the menu will explain how to use it if you open it without hovering over furniture.
– Placement Preview Visuals: Replaces the vanilla red "obstruction" tint with a green overlay (toggleable) when overlapping furniture, letting you know exactly when a layer will be created versus when a block is blocked by a solid wall. This is default off in config however since it looks kinda dodgy.
– Coziness & Immersion behind windows!!: A new toggle adds a layer of rain in the background (behind walls) so you can finally see the storm behind your windows! Also adds ambient leaf particles on windy days.
– Optional NPC Rendering: Toggle off NPC Patch to make NPCs render behind furniture on top of other furniture if you want your house to be more… 3D persay.
– Semi Wiring Support: Ghost furniture (lamps for the most part, torches) mostly respond to vanilla wiring logic. Toggle your layered lights just like real ones!
– COMPLETE Configurability: Toggle background rain, placement visuals, simplified rendering, and more in the mod config to suit yourself.

Your all-around menu for managing the layer of each object!

Yeah I get it, we’re all gonna struggle holding ourselves together with only 2 layers so go ahead and break a leg with this menu. Stack em infinitely!
This is a mod that is said to have been impossible. Want a piano over wooden beams? You got it. Want to make a bar with the stools in front of the tables? You got it. Oh and how could I forget, a painting behind a clock? Speaking of, just an idea, I wanna see someone (please post about it too), put a switch behind a painting or something to open a secret room. That’d be sick.
Love u guys. Enjoy!
