Spec Evo: Serina, Ultimocene, 265PE-The Mourner-in-the-Mist
"The mourner-in-the-mist is the very last of the boomsinger lineage, a stunted creature that now stands only a few inches taller than a human and weighs less than four hundred pounds – barely larger than the newborns of its early Ultimocene ancestors. Its name comes from its plaintive and melodic voice, akin to a melancholy humming that fills the misty air of the island every dawn and carries far offshore when the ocean is calm, so that the island itself seems to sing its own lament at its fate. The mourner is now almost exclusively dependent on eating seaweed and other debris brought in by the waves, gathering at low tide to graze as much as they can and then retiring to higher ground to rest while the tide comes in"
