Lightning Strikes Overhaul
This mod adjusts lightning strike behavior to be more physically accurate:
- Bulky, pointed, or metallic objects are more likely to attract lightning strikes.
- Objects placed on higher ground have an increased chance of being hit.
- If lightning strikes a non-grounded object, it inflicts an indirect damage to the surrounding area.
- Objects now display their lightning strike risk in the info panel.
- Lightning strikes will only begin after a short delay when a thunderstorm starts.
- Consecutive lightning strikes on a survivor no longer cause permanent negative effects.
- Devices hit by lightning will malfunction in addition to taking damage.
Notable Consequences:
- The landing capsule and scattered space debris can act as makeshift lightning shields in the early game.
- Power poles, available in the mid-game, effectively function as lightning rods.
- A lightning strike on a group of survivors or animals can disable them all due to indirect damage.
