Description:

This mod adjusts lightning strike behavior to be more physically accurate:

  • Bulky, pointed, or metallic objects are more likely to attract lightning strikes.
  • Objects placed on higher ground have an increased chance of being hit.
  • If lightning strikes a non-grounded object, it inflicts an indirect damage to the surrounding area.
  • Objects now display their lightning strike risk in the info panel.
  • Lightning strikes will only begin after a short delay when a thunderstorm starts.
  • Consecutive lightning strikes on a survivor no longer cause permanent negative effects.
  • Devices hit by lightning will malfunction in addition to taking damage.

Notable Consequences:

  • The landing capsule and scattered space debris can act as makeshift lightning shields in the early game.
  • Power poles, available in the mid-game, effectively function as lightning rods.
  • A lightning strike on a group of survivors or animals can disable them all due to indirect damage.
