A former Russian Colonel in the VDV (air assault troops"), she was trained as a skilled sharpshooter and schooled to speak fluent English for insertion missions behind enemy lines. Balalaika led forces in Afganistan where her face was badly scarred. Discharged from the Russian military for disobeying orders with most of her soldiers, she organized and ran the Crime Syndicate "Hotel Moscow" on the Thai island of Roanapur. With the destruction of her organization, Balalaika has returned to freelance mercenary work. While not as dangerous as she was in her prime, she is a skilled leader and tactician. Balalaika is downright ruthless and willing to utilize whatever means to achieve what she wants. Balalaika has a fondness for Cuban cigars.
