Description:

Hi there!!! I’m a sucker for RPG narrative in games, so this mod try’s to strengthen the Good Vs Evil Dynamic from the AI perspective.

What does this Mod?

One thing i didn´t like is that during a campaign ,AI doesn’t follow the Middle Earth narrative , so you come across scenarios where a faction can occupy a Key settlement that isn’t relevant to that faction.
Example : AI Rohan Ocuppies Erebor!!! What a Blasphemy!!!
This mod intents to balance that in 2 ways

  • Prevents war between "Good" Factions but also between "Evil Factions"
  • If certain conditions are met and AI occupies a settlement that "belongs" to another"rigthful" faction, by end turn , that settlement is returned to the"natural" owner (if Receiver faction is alive)

Rules
  • First and most important, this only applies between AI factions, Human Player is not impacted by this, since it’s the player choice to give or request a region, no regions will be taken or given by the AI to /from the player.
  • Second, Only Applies To "Good" Factions!!! Reason: the nature of evil factions is to conquer everything , so this region transfer only occurs between "good" factions

So lets say for example, Gundabad takes Erebor and Rohan is also at war with Gundabad , In case the horse lords are able to take it back, after end turn , the lonely mountain is returned to the Mighty Dwarfs!!

So what you can expect with the combination of region management + forced diplomacy , is that the map from the AI Perspective will "paint" itself naturally from a narrative point of view.

Forced Diplomacy restrains the confrontation between Good And Evil and region management ensures that landscape for AI Good Factions remains lore faithful, and all this happens naturally since Evil factions will try to take that territory and good faction will fight to return it to "rightfull" owners… so no more Rohan occupying Minas Tirith while gondor is still alive or Erebor managing Dol Gudur when woodland realm is occupying a region right next "door" etc…

Nevertheless, as a player you are still free to choose what regions you wish to occupy or not.

Savegame/compatibility/recommended mods /loading order

I´ve added compatability with:
The Dawnless Days: Desgun’s
The Dawnless Days : From the Ashes
Immortal characters ( in some occasions, for some reason it doesn’t load the script)

From the narrative perspective this mod goes very well with both from the Ashes and immortal characters , since the first allows to resurrect factions that were destroyed and once that happens if the player decides to return the main province to the resurrected faction, the region management script will kick in for the rest of the regions that the AI “Good Factions” own and belong to the resurrected faction, while the second gives "flavour" to the campaign by ensuring the important characters are part of the events.

As far as I’ve seen its save game compatible since triggers on turn start
