Expanded Zombies
No other changes are included.
Zombies no longer wear just a single outfit.
Instead, multiple clothing types and variants now appear throughout the game, improving visual variety and immersion.
This mod is primarily based on
Sabre-aN’s Headcrab Zombie Mod,
but has been expanded so that all zombie variants are used and distributed across appropriate maps.
These changes are especially noticeable in the following sections of the game:
"We Don’t Go To Ravenholm…" (Base Half-Life 2),
Lowlife → Exit 17 (Episode One),
To the White Forest → Under the Radar (Episode Two).
- Citizen zombies revert to refugee shirts when cut in half
This is a Source Engine limitation related to how skin(also bodygroup)s and gibs are handled, and unfortunately cannot be fixed on the addon side.
- Standard zombies wearing blue civilian clothing
- Civil Protection zombies
- Rebel zombies (including Medic variants)
- Shotgunner Zombines
- Elite Zombines
- Nova Prospekt Guard Zombines
(Unused — there is no appropriate placement for them in the base game)
This mod is compatible with Combine, Rebel, and Civil Protection (CP) reskins or remodels.
However, using such addons may result in visual inconsistencies between zombie variants.
Please note that addons which specifically remodel or reskin zombies are NOT compatible with this mod.
This mod is not compatible with most map replacement mods.
However, it does work with a limited number of them.
For detailed information, please refer to the
“Compatible Map Replacement Mods” discussion thread.
