Warhammer: Total Rebirth (ALPHA)

Warhammer: Total Rebirth is a total overhaul mod that alters almost every aspect of Total War: Warhammer II, bringing in new gameplay systems, a revamped combat system, new units, technologies, buildings and skill trees, for a gameplay experience more in line with the games preceding Total War: Rome II, where elements of real time tactics like unit morale, flanking and positioning mattered much more.

Overhauled Combat System: The battles of Total War: Warhammer 2 have been rebuilt from the ground up so battles are more tactical and challenging, requiring more careful positioning and commitment of units to win. The strengths and weaknesses of units are made more pronounced, giving them a better defined role on the field. The combat system is inspired by that of Total War: Shogun 2. Morale and the height advantage can be the difference between victory and defeat.
Overhauled Siege Battles: A siege rework is included in Warhammer: Total Rebirth. No more pocket ladders and wall towers with range that covers most of the map. New maps are being made to replace the existing ones for a siege experience more like those of Total War: Medieval 2 and Total War: Attila.
New Units: A number of new Empire, Southern Realms, Araby and Kislev units have been added, complete with high quality models and textures.
Empire Visual Overhaul: Most of the Empire’s units have gotten a graphical upgrade with greatly expanded variety of high fidelity models. Their visual overhaul is inspired by official Warhammer artwork.
New Playable Factions: All minor Empire factions are now playable as well as Southern Realms! The intent is that eventually all minor factions of all races will be available to the player.
Overhauled Buildings & Technologies: The buildings and technology systems have been expanded and altered for a different, more even pacing of the campaign progression. Similar to earlier titles like Total War: Attila, buildings are now locked behind technologies.
Overhauled Skill Trees and Agent Actions: Inspired by the Borderlands series, the skill trees of different characters, both Legendary Lords and Generic Ones, have been revamped so each skill line follows a specific theme and offers related bonuses. Agent Actions have been changed to be more meaningful, impactful and believable. No more "Hinder Replenishment" and say hello to "Incite Rebellion"!
Unit Formations: A number of units from all races now have access to unit formations for more tactical gameplay. Many infantry and Cavalry units are now also able to go in "Loose Spacing", spreading out to reduce casualties from ranged fire but being more vulnerable to cavalry charges.

In order to use this, you will need to manually place the movie.pack file in the data folder of your game.

Current Progress: All races are playable, but only the Empire has gotten a revamp of its campaign gameplay and balance. Vampire Counts has received a buildings rework. Other races are pending to be revamped.
The development of Warhammer: Total Rebirth is now focused on reworking the buildings for all races, which will serve as the foundation for the other changes that will come later, which will eventually see them get a complete campaign update.
