Description:

While the world is looking at an increasingly passive and protectionist United States which starts to limit its involvement on the high seas to the north American continent, NATO got distracted looking to deter China in the Indo pacific.

This development was advantageous for another nation: Russia.

By effectively staying out of the political news headlights, Russia was able to amass its Russian fleet in the lesser Antilles in the Caribbean.

In a move no NATO expert was able to foresee, yesterday at 21:00 local time Russia bombarded and landed on the Dutch islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao, as has been confirmed by Dutch troops stationed there.

Since US troops have withdrawn an year earlier from curacao, Dutch troops were not able to hold the islands for long, and went into hiding.

Neighboring Venezuela hasn’t issued a comment at this time and might even be involved in stationing Russian assets during a precursor exercise in the region.

The Dutch government has activated the verdedigingsgeval and is assembling its armed forces to retake the islands.

Due to the fact that article 5 does not include the ABC islands in the defense case and most high profile NATO units are currently in Indochina, NATO can’t provide additional forces on short notice, except for Germany which has pledged naval units and marines to the Dutch forces.

With the forces of the two nations combined a task force consisting of:

Zr. Ms. Karel Doormann – Landing Plattfrom Dock

Zr. Ms. Evertsen – AAW frigate

Zr. Ms. De Ruyter – AAW frigate

Zr. Ms. Zeven Provincien – AAW frigate

Zr. Ms. Van Amstel – ASW frigate

Fregate Hessen – AAW frigate

Fregate Bayern – ASW frigate

U-33 – submarine

Is being assembled as we speak, with an expected arrival in 6 days time.

Additionally 20 newly comissioned F-35s will be ferried to Martinique International Airport to provide air support in the forthcoming operation.

I’m looking forward to replacing the Karel Doorman in this mission with the actual model, and replace the 212 with a Walrus class submarine, as soon as they arrive.
