The Two Holy Cities
"The city of Mecca is situated low in the midst of mountains such that from whatever direction you approach, the city cannot be seen until you are there… The Haram Mosque is in the middle of the plain, and the city lanes and bazaars are built all around it. Wherever there is an opening in the mountain a rampart wall has been made with a gate. The only trees in the city are at the western gate to the Haram Mosque, called Abraham’s Gate, where there are several tall trees around a well."
– Naser-e Khosraw’s Pilgrimages to Makkah
"Our stay in Madinah the Illustrious on this journey lasted four days. We spent each night in the Holy Mosque, where everyone engaged in pious exercises. Some formed circles in the court and lit a quantity of candles. Volumes of the Holy Qur’an were placed on book-rests in their midst. Some were reciting from it; some were intoning hymns of praise to God; others were contemplating the Immaculate Tomb [of Muhammad]; while on every side were singers chanting the eulogy of the Apostle {Muhammad], may God bless him and give him peace."
– Ibn Battuta’s visit to Madinah
The mod adds a sprawling city to the vicinity of the two Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah following the description of Naser for Makkah, and some illustration I found in the internet of medieval Madinah.
I tried making their walls smaller and the city itself more sparse (Makkah has lots of tents for pilgrims) than PiGu’s city sprawls in Medieval Arts so as to show that despite the cities’ significance, it is not as bustling as that of Baghdad or Jerusalem.
This mod is meant to be used with Medieval Arts, due to their addition of the Masjid an-Nabawi model.
But is compatible with anything since I didn’t edit any locator files (Madinah would have an empty plot however)

All thanks to PiGu for letting the community and me to use the beautiful models he made!
Any feedbacks is greatly appreciated 😀
