A heavily divided America, after the 1992 election.
LORE: In 1963, the assassination of John F. Kennedy is blamed on a Canadian Senator, courts claimed his goal was to worsen relations between the two nations. This is false, however it sparks rage and arguements amongst the United States and Canada.
In 1983, the United States starts up a project to dam the Gulf of Mexico in order to retrieve large amounts of oil from the region.
To complete this, they invaded parts of the western Mexican shore and the nation of Cuba, worsening the relations between the nations heavily, and sending Cuba into a long civil war.
The dam is completed soon after, drying up small amounts of land near the shore, but not near as much as they would’ve wanted. So they got together their best team of scientists to build a water sucking dam that owuld connect parts of the water that were already dried up, which caused almost half of the Gulf of Mexico to become dry.
In responce, to one-up the Americans, the Canadians Decide to build up their own dam across the Hudson bay, which starved out the Canadian economy.
Then, in 1993, after the 1992 elections, the nation is divided into 3.
These 3 sides got so heated, that eventually, the second civil war begins. More and more nations start their own uprisings, so many infact, it could be comparable to that of the HRE.
Mamy civilians flee to Canada, but the new population and the crippling economy cause the nation to fly into its own collapse.
Meinwhile, in Mexico, the Drug Cartels start their own wars, eventually destroying Mexico as well.
Starting the North American Holy Roman Empire.
