Hello Force Through players!
Finally managed to implement a long requested feature of customizable factions!
This is a huge update in both what can be seen and what’s happening under the hood and I’d be very grateful for any feedback regarding bugs and any other sort of weirdness that I may have missed.
Since I don’t really play multiplayer much, MP testing is especially appreciated.
To rule out any mod-related weirdness, please run this on an unmodded Arma.
For those who haven’t tried Force Through before:
Force Through is an AI vs AI game mode that puts the player into a relentless infantry battle where two sides fight to push the front line toward the enemy’s starting position. Reinforcements stream in continuously as units are wiped out.
AI groups spawn and move independently, searching the mission area for enemies. They share intel about discovered enemy locations, respond to nearby threats, try to maneuver through areas with cover, and look for advantageous positions to attack from.
Players can take part either as a group leader using their own initiative to give their side the edge, or as a regular squad member just going with the flow of the battle.
In single player mode, players can switch to any other unit at any time using team switch (U button or via the death screen).
In multiplayer mode, players can join other players or AI-controlled groups so they don’t have to go lone-wolf.
Before the mission starts, the battle location can be selected by the server host (or the player in single player), along with weather and some AI options.
