Description:
To the individuals who requested that Koihime characters can recruit their faction unique/special units no matter where they serve, here you go.

This mod allows all Han and Bandit Unique Koihime characters to be able to recruit the unique/special units of the "original" or "lore/historical-affiliated" factions they are a part of no matter what faction they are in, and no matter the character level.

Each of these characters will have an additional skill node (minimum 1, maximum 3), denoting what faction unique/special units this character can freely recruit.

For example, when Kouson Pairen/Gongsun Zan finally gets grind to dust in your runs, she is still able to recruit her unique/special units, no matter who you play as. You can even be Shi Sakuya/Shi Xie chilling down south and Kouson Pairen/Gongsun Zan can still recruit White Horse Fellows to help you kite Nanman raids.

And what happens if you’re Kouson Pairen/Gongsun Zan playing in her own faction? Isn’t this new feature redundant?

Well no. It’s still very useful. Here’s why. Normally you need to be level 6 in Kouson Pairen/Gongsun Zan’s faction to be able to recruit White Horse Fellows.

But with this feature, you bypass the level requirement for any Koihime character who originally serve Kouson Pairen/Gongsun Zan.

The level restrictions is still required for generics or other Koihime characters who have no lore/history of serving Kouson Pairen/Gongsun Zan. So if Sou Karin/Cao Cao somehow serves you, the normal recruitment requirement for Kouson Pairen/Gongsun Zan’s unique/special units still stands for her. BUT she can still recruit her own faction units.

Why do some characters have the ability to recruit unique/special units from more than one faction?

Since when did I said it was fair? Some characters just had significant lore or history within more than one faction. Ba Sui/Ma Chao and co. were their own faction before joining Ryuu Touka/Liu Bei. So they’d have the perk of accessing both their original faction units and as eventual "Shu generals", access to Ryuu Touka/Liu Bei’s faction units. Some of the characters you might have thought were absolutely useless and are there for "Catch’em all" reasons from yesteryear, might be more broken now given their unit recruitment pool.

What about the Yellow Turban and Nanman characters?

They don’t have unique units per say. It’s more of a set of units unique to their own subculture. But the Nanman have their own skillset so it’s pretty hard to pull it off, at least I have not figured it out right now. For Yellow Turban characters, well it’s not like you can ever recruit them beyond being a Yellow Turban, so no point honestly.

Can the Game AI make use of this?

Yes. If they are smart enough to choose the right units for the job beyond militia, they will use it. So if the AI makes use of this, then fair warning the mod may be more unbalanced than it already is. Which is why it’s a sub-mod.
